题识：(文略)赐进士出身翰林院编修，国史馆协修加一级子壻杨文莹谨撰并书。 |说明：杨文莹，字粹伯，号雪渔，浙江钱塘(今杭州)人。光绪三年(1877)进士，选庶吉士，授翰林院编修，官湖南考官，迁贵州学政。自称性不宜做官，任满后即回杭州，主讲学海堂和养正书墅，培养学生甚众。工于书法，得颜、柳、苏、黄笔意，有铁画银钩之势。授翰林院编修，记名御史，官至贵州学政。其藏书甚富，清末民初，战乱四起，他与儿子杨复勤奋搜罗，会稽鲁氏“贵读楼”、黟山李氏“娱园”的藏书被全部购入，甚至丁氏“八千卷楼”的藏书也有少量流入他家。着有《草亭诗集》。
