题识：绣谷钟拟陈道山。||钤印：司马钟印 |说明：司马钟，字子英，号秀谷，一号绣谷，又号绣鹄，别号紫金山樵。江苏上元（今南京）人。官直隶河工州判。长写意花卉及鸟兽。落笔豪放，气势犹逸，脱尽描头画尾之习。或作草虫鱼虾一两笔，颇生动。其花鸟俱用粗笔点叶，最有古致。写生家有北派者自绣谷始。亦善画兰。山水不多作。性傲嗜酒落拓，酒酣一夕可了数帧。寻丈巨幅，顷刻而就。中年之笔与张雪鸿、张桂岩在伯仲之间。||备注：原装旧裱
