|本品白玉为材，玉质细润如脂，光泽柔美。整料圆雕石榴，硕大饱满，露出榴籽，枝叶环绕其身，延伸器底成足。刀工至为讲究，无论枝干、叶片、花朵的制作，处处透露著作者治玉功力的不凡。整件作品的运刀方式及味道亦为典型乾隆时期的风格。据《博物志》记载，石榴是汉代张骞出使西域时带回中原种植的，因其象征多子多孙，家庭兴旺，寓“榴开百子”之意，故深受世人喜爱。|参阅：《故宫博物院藏品大系·玉器编·9（清）》页172，图162。
