|娑婆世界教化众生的释迦牟尼佛，左胁侍菩萨是以智慧闻名的文殊菩萨，右胁侍菩萨是以大行闻名的普贤菩萨，三者合称释迦三尊。在华严经中，文殊菩萨以智、普贤菩萨以行辅佐释迦牟尼佛的法身毗卢遮那佛（密宗言大日如来）。故“释迦三尊”又被称为“华严三圣”。
