司徒越 字剑鸣，生于安徽寿县。生前为中国书法家协会会员、中国书法家协会安徽分会名誉主席，安徽省考古学会、博物馆学会理事，省第六、七届人大代表。书法艺术独树一帜，饮誉中国书坛。书法正、草、隶、篆、甲骨、金文兼优，尤以狂草见长。在草书方面，极重视继承传统，但又不墨守成规，勤于探索，力求创新，终于形成了刚健豪放，婉转流畅的独特风格，为海内外所推崇。工诗文，精篆刻，通考古，博学多才。曾发表《鄂君启节续探》、《关于芍陂始建时期的问题》、《草书獭祭篇》等重要论文。
