刘自椟 号迟斋，生于圣哲辈出、文风极盛的于右任故里三原。曾任中国书法家协会常务理事、陕西省书协主席、陕西省文史馆馆员。中国书法家协会授予他“中国书法艺术荣誉奖”。书法四体具佳，尤以篆书为最。沈鹏、谷溪先生所撰《刘自椟书法选·序》中评：“刘自椟以刚与柔与渴三种因素互相渗透奠定了他成为当代颇有成就的篆书家的地位。”出版《刘自椟书法选》、《刘自椟书法艺术颉英》等。
