The Thangka is finely woven in the center to depict the guru Jamchen Chojey seated in vajra paryankasana on a plinth, wearing richly decorated inner and outer robes finely embroidered overall with dragons chasing flaming pearl amidst clouds, his hands raised in dharmachakra mudra and holding lotus blossoms bearing a vajra and bell on both sides, wearing his characteristic cap with upturned lappets and vajra finial, further backed by a circular mandorla, with a Tibetan and Chinese inscription to the right top and a large square seal mark to the left top, all below an elaborately jewelled canopy flanked by clouds.
