货郎鼓本是我国古代游商手持的一种器具，左右摇摆可击鼓发声招揽顾客，大多呈鼓形，一般用木板箍成筒身，两侧蒙上兽皮，经左右两个绳系的鼓槌击打发声。后逐渐演化成为一种儿童玩具。此件货郎鼓呈要鼓形，深束腰，蒙皮髹以绿色，束腰另系鼓槌及坠饰，坠饰装饰华丽，具有清代宫廷纹饰装饰特点。当为清代官宦人家儿童玩具。
