皮球花为雍正朝新创之纹饰，以不规则的布局与丰富的色彩来传达出别致而清新的华贵美感。拍品呈六方形，口部折沿处及四足均以黄釉为地，红彩绘回纹装饰；外壁通景以粉彩绘形状各异的皮球花纹，有呈雪花状、菊瓣形、西莲形、璇玑形等，变化多端，无一雷同。纹饰布局疏密有致，或两两成对，或三者成簇。色彩缤纷妍丽，胎质细腻洁白，釉面温润如玉，尽显华丽含蓄之美。
