|在西藏，法印为权力的象征。此法印极富立体感，钮作龙形，龙目炯炯有神，富有动感。印体外壁纹饰精美，密而不乱，鎏金厚重。印面为汉、满、藏文三体对照，文曰：“敕封班禅额尔德尼之印”。藏历水蛇年（1713年），康熙帝依照旧例，赐给五世班禅金册、金印，册封他为“班禅额尔德尼”。从此，“额尔德尼”开始正式成为历代班禅的封号。
