19 世纪，宜兴紫砂销往泰国皇室，多采用磨光设计，并包饰金属，器表经常光滑可鉴，具有浓厚的异国风格。此件紫砂提梁壶，除了采用通常所见的磨光包饰金属工艺外，更是搭配了暖座，内铺棉絮来保暖，可谓华丽十分。在新北市立莺歌陶瓷博物馆内，亦藏有同款壶式，为晚清泰国华侨定制之物，与此件可谓一模一样，由此看来此类壶虽为外销器，但亦非寻常之物，大都应为当时定制器皿。参阅：台北新北市立莺歌陶瓷博物馆紫
