古时正月十五上元节晚上，除了吃元宵、赏花灯、猜灯谜等活动外，还要唱船、赞船、划船，古人们聚在一起手持元宵歌本，提着灯笼唱着歌，也称之为唱元宵歌。此挽袖以白缎为地，采用黑、白、蓝、绿等冷色调为主，绣出江南上元灯节的场景，局部点缀亮红色，使得清雅中更添喜气。
