Note: Theodore Phyffers, circa 1820-76 was a Belgian and naturalised British subject who worked for A.W.N Pugin amongst others and was commissioned for this work by Miss Nightingale's travelling companion Mrs Selina Bracebridge. The original was exhibited at the 1857 Royal Academy Exhibition.
