Buddha Vajradhara (Dorje Chang) and Sita-Tara (White Tara). Tibet / China. Antique bronze or brass statue with remains of fire-gilding. Remains of cold gold and polychrome painting. Stone ornaments. Height 20 cm (7.8"). Weight: 2380 g. From German private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia. The hands of Buddha Vajradhara showing the vajrahumkara mudra and holding vajra and bell. The hands of the White Tara showing the varada and the vitarka mudra and holding long lotus flowers. Both seated in dhyana-asana on an oval lotus throne. Five petals crown and flaming halos. Bottom covered with copper consecration plate with seal. Slight signs of age and wear. Very rare and finely casted sculpture.
