胡桃木、织物芬·尤（丹麦，1912-1989）芬·尤创作生涯中最重要的事件，便是其在1951-1952年之间，为美国纽约联合国总部的托管理事会设计全套办公家具。其中1951年设计、1952年开始生产的FJ 51椅/联合国椅，便位列其中。硬朗的木骨架线条与被织物覆盖的方形坐垫和靠背产生鲜明对比，不同质感交叉碰撞，却保持相对的结构独立性。与酋长椅类似，椅子后腿从地面向上生长，最高处的椅背两侧以犀牛角状的尖端收尾。手靠长度较长，从后方向前方微微收窄，在与前腿交接处稍稍突出。此座椅较一般的沙发偏高，适合多种家居功能，其高度也便于阅读与书写。
