题识：双于道人定之，汤涤写于黄浦。|钤印：「茗闲堂」「定之书画」「画梅楼」 |备注：扬州文物商店旧藏。||汤涤（1878-1948），江苏武进（今江苏常州）人。号双于道人。字定之，小字丁子，号乐孙，亦号太平湖客、双于道人、琴隐后人，室名画梅楼、茗闲堂、云视楼。为清代名画家汤贻汾之曾孙，汤禄名嫡孙。幼年失怙，生于清贫，随母习学，年未弱冠而书画皆通。其画擅山水及梅竹松柏之属，亦能人物。山水取法李流芳，上探梅花道人，峻爽流畅，气韵清幽。晚年多写松，霜干风标，龙鳞马鬃，尤以松针长而稀者，更显坚贞之致。中年长居北京，与萧逊、王云同是民国年间北京画坛的重要画家。
