|说 明：此笔筒以黄花梨为材，上刻喜鹊立于梅花枝头，寓意“喜上眉梢”。另配七绝一首：“路入寒梅江树斜，十分浓雪一分花。野人能奈三更冷，明月空山问酒家。”落款“雍正岁次乙巳小春月老桐”。该笔筒品相佳美，包浆明亮，其题材充满文人画气息。此件笔筒刀法多变而老辣，且通体包浆莹润，皮壳褐熟，显然系数百年经传久奉之宝，当为老桐经典作品。|潘西凤（1736—1795），字桐冈，号老桐，别署天姥山樵。浙江新昌人，侨居扬州。清代康乾时期竹刻家、篆刻家。王虚舟弟子，工书法，精于刻竹，名重于时。曾选佳竹摹刻《十七帖》，精妙绝伦，翁方纲为之跋，嘉庆年间被收入内府。亦治印，有古风，刀法圆润浑厚，名盛于时。与郑板桥友情甚笃，郑称其为濮仲谦以后金陵派竹刻的第一人。
