Overall very good with a 1" area of restoration to the lower right and minor surface grime. Note: Titled and inscribed on verso. 2) "The Unexpected", oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left "Frank Carolan O'Neill 1915", . Good restored condition with scattered re-touch throughout. Note: Titled and inscribed on verso. Little is known about this American illustrator. He illustrated for "The Frontier" magazine in an article titled "The Round-up at Gila Chasm", September 1925. Both are 18" x 28"; overall 24" x 24". PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT.
