Last quarter 18th century, New England. The back with three curved horizontal slats joined to cylindrical turned styles with mushroom finials joined to horizontal cylindrical arms raised on sausage turned frontal legs with turned knob hand grips centering a woven rope seat. The legs joined by double box stretcher. Loss to top most back slat, seat a latter replacement, one leg broken and reattached at seat rail, colors blended and tone. Old insect damage, now inactive, also filled and toned. Chair now exhibits a dark patina throughout. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. Condition: Dimensions: 22" x 27 - 1/2".
