Ancient Egypt. The lid is carved and polished stone, with a silver collar band inscribed "Head of AMSET From Canopic Jar Found in the Royal Mummy Pits DER EL BAHARI 1893". Maker's mark on silver band for Harry Atkin, Atkin Brothers, London, 1853-1925. Well worn but structurally sound. 2-1/2" high by 2-1/2" diameter. Condition: Dimensions: Box : 4 -1/2" x 4 -1/4".
