A Chinese court lady's robe dating from the 19th century. The robe is embroidered with butterflies with roundels in the forbidden stitch, forbidden stitch flowers on the border of the sleeves, flower and peach embroidery and a wave and rock motif band at the bottom. Dimensions are: 44 1/4 inches tall X 51 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The robe has some loose threads, a few very small stains, and some loose seams.
