An album of hand painted military exercises dating from the Qing dynasty. The album is rendered in watercolor on paper, and details military parade exercises and formations. Dimensions are: 17 inches tall X 18 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The cover is separated, overall good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Albert T Quon in Beverly Hills, CA. Mr. Quon was born in China and came to US as a teenager. He graduated from USC in 1928 and established a successful import/export business in both China and the US. He was the first Chinese American to purchase property in Beverly Hills. He also became the first Asian admitted to the Los Angeles Rotary Club, and the first Asian to serve on the Board of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
