For further information, please call our office at 212-867- 7288. 战国 青铜金银错辟邪擎螭龙柱豆(一对) 盖豆球形体，子母口。下有柱形足。饰有镶嵌错金银变形几何云纹。下承蹲式辟邪，瑞兽昂首直视，双眼炯炯，尖耳大鼻，张口露齿，怒目狰狞，头有双角，虎虎生威。羽翅与昂翘的长尾适恰巧围绕瑞兽背上的擎螭龙。造型独特，错金银图案纹饰极为精美，金丝匀称，线条流畅。战国青铜豆是祭祀时使用的重要礼器之一，具有战国时期明显的风格特征。 Warring States, A Pair of Rare Gold and Silver-inlaid Bronze Bixie-Form Ritual Vessel, Dou Superbly cast and of extraordinarily large size, formed as recumbent Bixie, striding on clawed feet, its mouth agape, revealing fearsome tongue and teeth, the tail cascades inward. The horned Bixie highlighted with intricate and geometric stylized scrolls running all over the body on verdigris surface, carrying a Dou with cover on an extended spindle curled up with a Kui-dragon, with similar complex inlay on its scale. Its clawed foot extending downward and clutching on the bixie’s horn. It is extremely rare to see fully sculptural animal-form vessels, such as this covered dou in Chinese Archaic bronzes. It is a quintessential example of the highest quality inspired creation produced for the most exalted classes of Warring States period elite.
