题识：诗句对君难出手，牡丹邀我且寻春。厚田大兄大人正，梦陶陈名侃。||钤印：梦陶、名侃之印 |说明：陈名侃，字梦陶，江阴人。父荣绍，咸丰癸丑进士，户部员外郎。雄于文，为京都士流所宗。生八子，名侃第三。 光绪乙亥恩科，弟兄三人同举北闱。名侃援例为内阁中书，考充总理各国事务衙门章京。以劳洧擢户部郎中，考选御史，仍留署，以海关道记名。庚子乱，只身留守本署，保持管钥，议约王大臣咸倚重之。寻改官制，授外务部参议，洧历左丞。
