|砚以紫色青田石琢就，随形，小体身重，砚面砚首琢流云纹，砚池较深，砚堂微凹，砚背琢随形内凹覆手。古意盎然。青田石主要出产于浙江省青田县，是我国传统的“四大印章石之一”。主要成分为叶蜡石，质地致密细腻、柔韧，温润光洁；石色以淡青绿为主，兼有红、黄、蓝、白、黑及褐色，有的混杂相间。其制砚称“青田石砚”。据史料记载，青田石六朝时即有采掘利用，宋时开采较多，清代开采已具有相当规模，多以制印，鲜有制砚。此方小砚雕工娴熟，古意盎然。为砚中逸品。
