Bottle Gourd Carved with Dragon Wine-pot Qing Dynasty 此酒壶匏质红褐色，设耳执、长直流，鼓腹束颈圈足，壶口底足镶紫檀木口沿，象牙顶钮，底刻双框纂体四字光绪年制款。壶身剔刻浅浮雕开光龙凤纹，工艺精致，神态生动。“匏”是“葫芦”的旧称，匏器工艺是中国工艺美术中的奇葩，清代尤其颇受皇家重视，有资料记载，康熙帝在瀛台丰泽园内曾设专人管理种植葫芦。沈初在《西清笔记》中也写道：“葫芦器，康熙间始为之，瓶、盘、杯、碗无所不有”。乾隆帝更是对匏器喜爱有加。清中期后至光绪时期，匏器一度成为上层社会的一种较为流行的高贵艺术品。
