Book Prolog I: 1947 German Artists - Hans Orlowski: Prolog I : Portfolio of contemporary German drawings and prints. Designed by the artistic group Prolog the set was intended to showcase contemporary German artists in 1947 with a particular strength of artists from Munich. Ed. Carl Linfert, Germany: Gebr. Mann Verlag G.m.b.H, Berlin, 1947. Released in a numbered edition of 1000 copies, this being number 372. Folio includes presentation pamphlet printed in German and English which bears the edition number. Folio includes – Collotypes after drawings by Graphische Anstalt Ganymed, Berlin; original wood cuts and lithographs. Each image on laid paper and tipped into a paper folio mat. The paper measures 14 3/4” x 9 1/2” to 13”h X 8 1/2” depending upon the image and each paper folio is 16 1/2” x 11 3/4”. All measurements are approximate.
