the rectangular top below a series of two mirror backed shelves surmounted by a three-quarter pierced brass gallery rail, above a superbly fitted frieze drawer, with tooled leather writing surface and indexed compartments, over two trellis panelled doors enclosing shelves raised on reeded bun feet. The firm of Williams and Gibton (1830-44) are listed as Cabinetmakers and upholsterers, Auctioneers, Valuators and House agents. Previously the firm of Mack, Williams and Gibton (1811-29) who were at 39 Stafford Street, Dublin and were appointed 'Upholster's & Cabinet Makers to his Majesty, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant and His Majesty's Board of Works' in 1806.
