Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), early-mid 19th centuryPainted in underglaze blue around the body with a pair of prancing deer on one side and four stylised rabbits on the other beneath trailing pine branches, the rounded shoulder with repeated chrysanthemum petals encircling the long neck scattered with pine leaves; the body moulded with three asymmetrical indentations for ease of handling. 23cm (9in) high.
