One by Ryuzan and one by Kinkozan, Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, late 19th/early 20th centuryEach decorated in enamels and gilt, the first a koro, the pierced cover with a pair of long-tailed birds perched among flowering maple branches and sparrows in flight and surmounted by a gilt finial in the form of a seated lion, the design continuing around the body reserved on a cream ground; signed on the base Satsuma Ryuzan, 14cm (5½in) high; the second a plate with a central panel framed on the left by trailing wisteria, suisen (daffodils) and shukaido (hardy begonia) enclosing ladies from a wealthy household and children on an leisurely outing; signed on the base Kinkozan tsukuru, 18.2cm (7 1/8in) diam.
