|此件选材上等老挝石材，石质脂润鲜亮，色彩丰腴，凝结莹透，雍容华贵，手感细腻。作品以“花开富贵”为题材雕刻一簇牡丹依偎于山石生长。刘禹锡有《赏牡丹》“唯有牡丹真国色，花开时节动京城”赞美牡丹艳压群芳。作者因材施技，以黄白调为花卉、小鸟，背后红黄色为山石、枝叶，色彩分明而绚烂。花瓣花蕊雕工精细、层次分明，完美绽放于山石之间。巧色运用精妙，交相辉映惊艳无比，富贵而又稳重。细观此作，牡丹雕刻极尽细微之能，将花瓣的卷曲垂顺雕刻得栩栩如生，仿若含露盛开，抚之却并不刃手，且没有过于脆弱之虞，每片花瓣都有一定的厚度保证它的强度，但看上去却轻柔纤美，堪称鬼斧神工。
