Each incorporating Russian minerals in the pietra dura work, the first one, slightly larger, composed of red jasper with green serpentine, with black onyx borders, raised on four bronze feet. The hinged lid opening to reveal a velvet lined interior, measuring 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 in x 2 1/2 in; the second, having a depiction of a poppy on its lid, measuring 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/4 in. (2)
