|笔筒取材黄花梨木，外壁仿自然形态雕刻树瘤形状，瘿结分布。本品以黄花梨为材，随形施技，内部刳挖成器，平口宽沿，身形敦厚，内壁素面光滑，筒身外壁雕凿树木瘤疤，根瘤大小不一，形状怪异，宛若天成。下承玉璧形底。明末清初文人追求自然雅趣、山野之乐，多喜利用天然竹木瘿瘤之奇巧者，匠心取舍，随形随势，巧作书房几案、如意、柱杖与文具等，取其平淡天真之意趣，并简称社会风尚。此件笔筒取材壮硕，牛毛纹纤柔美观，疏朗流转，相映成趣。包浆润泽，呈相温和含蓄，品相完美，当为明末清初文人雅士文房陈设之佳器。
