A Chinese horizontal painting of an orchid by Han Ying. It is done in ink on silk with a silk backing and no dowel. It has a signature and 1 seal. Dimensions are: 8 1/4 inches tall X 25 inches wide. A pair of Chinese paintings depicting flowers and birds by Xu Yin. One features 2 chicks and has 2 seals and the other shows 1 dove and has 1 seal. Both are done in watercolor on paper and have a silk backing. Dimensions are 11 inches tall X 15 1/2 inches wide for each. A calligraphy by Jia Fuming given to Shi Mu. It is on paper with a signature and a dedication. It has no seals. It is mounted on a silk backing, but no dowel. Dimensions are: 26 inches tall X 9 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: They are all in good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Ai Xian Zhou (1890-1955). Mr. Ai was a pioneer of higher education in China during the early 20th century, as well as a renowned psychologist. He was a professor of psychology and a dean of the College of Education at China Central University.
