|清代白玉紅皮扳指，玉料白密度好。|扳指，又叫玉谍，本意是拉弓射箭时扣弦用的一种工具，套在射手右手拇指上，原属于满族特有的首饰——扳指与戒指，虽非九鼎大吕，但就其渊源与文化微妙论，则颇值得涵泳玩味。按戒指之意义，戴于指上，含有警戒之告示，其上镌有『戒烟』、『戒酒』、『戒色』之字样。及后，汉族人士亦多效此风。凡劝人戒烟戒酒戒色者，聚资为之镌一戒指赠之。八旗子弟最普通之戒指，多镌有自己的姓名，此风历久不混。
