Property of a gentleman - a Japanese katana, Showa period (Second World War), the tang signed Ishihara Yoshisada (of Seki province), with decorative iron tsuba, in gold & silver painted metal scabbard (see illustration). Provenance - this sword is accompanied by a copy of the certificate from Allied Land Forces, Singapore District, dated 14 February 1946, authorising Major K.G. Aston to retain and keep this article of Japanese equipment.
