印度柏拉（Pala）位于比哈尔邦（Bihar）与孟加拉一带，造像特色崇尚藻饰，追求华丽，璎珞臂钏精雕细镂，被誉为印度佛教造像艺术最后的奇葩。四臂观音为喜玛拉雅山区佛教徒普遍膜拜的神祇，衪一般以双手合什，另双手各持法器为形象，但此尊却以手印及持瓶以取代合什，可能受印度教造像影响，殊堪罕见。
