A warm translucent brown-green jade incense burner/ censer from China with a three tier base and two tier lid in a tapering oval shape. The lid has a carved openwork mesh of Taotie and beaked serpents with a large standing figure of a Taotie and scrolling shapes forming the upper portion. The base is, similarly, ornamented all over with piercings on the second tier to reflect the openwork of the lid and particularly elaborate handles from which, the largest of 3 sets of carved rings is suspended.H:10 5/8 in.(27 cm) W:10 in.(25.4 cm) Condition: in good condition
