Heatwole, who represented Minnesota in the House of Representatives from 1895Â1903, marked "Personal and Confidential." In full: "I have a note from Mr. Kellogg in which he suggests that I write to you and inquire from you what you think of the political situation in the State, for he regards you as occupying a position where your information would be valuable. Of course, I do not wish to trouble you in this matter, and if you prefer not to take any part in the controversy, please throw this letter in the waste-basket. I should, however, very much appreciate any advice or other assistance which you could give me in enabling me to learn the situation in your part of Minnesota." In fine condition.
