Partly-printed DS, signed ÂVictoria R, one page, 15.5 x 12.25, October 6, 1884. Official document recognizing a consular appointment, in part: "Whereas, the President of the Oriental Republic of the Uruguay has by a Commission bearing date of the fifteenth day of May last constituted Mr. Adolfo Masson to be Consul at Cardiff. And we having thereupon approved of the said Adolfo Masson as Consul for the said Republic according to the Commission before mentioned, Our Will and Pleasure are, and We hereby require that you do receive, countenance, and as there may be occasion, favourably assist him the said Adolfo Masson in the exercise of his Office." Boldly and prominently signed at the head by Queen Victoria. The seal affixed to the upper left corner remains fully intact. In very good to fine condition, with several intersecting folds, wrinkling, and a short tear/crease to the middle top edge.Format: DS
