Amazing black-bodied 1969 Nola acoustic guitar with a sunburst finish, formerly owned and used by blues legend John Lee Hooker as his personal home or 'parlor' guitar, signed prominently on the body in black felt tip, "John Lee Hooker, JLH." Includes the original carrying case. In fine condition, with the guitar bearing expected signs of use; the carrying case is in very good condition and features a range of wear and scuffing. Accompanied by letters of provenance from Hooker's daughter, Zakiya Hooker Bell, and by Rich Kirch, a guitarist who played in Hooker's Coast to Coast Blues Band for 13 years. The Kirch letter reads: "I knew John Lee Hooker since 1976 and played guitar in his band from 1988 until he passed away in 2001. I had John sign the Nola Guitar back around 25 years ago." The letter from Hooker's daughter, in part: "The 1969 Nola Acoustic Guitar was owned and signed by my father, Mr. John Lee Hooker. This guitar was used by my father as a home guitar. This guitar was also used in the studio occasionally."
