Elmer Stennes (1911-1975) worked mostly in Weymouth, Mass. hand crafting a variety of banjo clocks, standing clocks, and mantel clocks which were all of the very highest quality. Many were sold under the aegis of fine retail jewelers. This example with fine reverse painted glasses and an outstanding gold leaf carved case is stamped #28 throughout and features the original weight driven timepiece movement. Some minor flaking to the balls mounted onto the pendulum box.
