取竹之大材，筒壁厚实，以刀代笔，用深挖高浮雕技法雕琢松下高士对弈图。松枝以鱼鳞纹排列刻画，极富层次感；高士对弈，有童子在旁服侍，景致清幽，文人气息浓厚，为清朝嘉定派竹刻精品，深受欢迎，在当时即为世人所真。此笔筒历经年岁，包浆浑厚红亮，有油润质感，当为清早期嘉定竹刻笔筒中的上品。
