百宝嵌挂屏始于明代，此挂屏集名贵材质、工艺于一身，为清代国力最强盛的乾隆时期制作，甚为珍贵难得。清代宫廷室内陈设浓妍华丽，从装饰角度来看，紫檀嵌百宝的画框大气厚重，能和室内陈设和谐统一。类似的百宝嵌挂屏，在故宫博物院和北京钓鱼台国宾馆都有收藏。共同的特点是木框、铜活及所嵌材料用料极精，工艺繁复，精细至极。此件在同类中可称为上品，殊为难得。
