TO THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES THE PRINCE & PRINCESS CHRISTIAN OF SCHLESWIG HOLSTEIN ON THE OCASSION OF THEIR SILVER WEDDING, 5TH JULY 1891. Hallmarks indicate London-make sterling, dated 1891, an early piece from artists Walter and John Barnard. Prince Christian was the son in law to Queen Victoria, having married her third daughter Helena in 1866. This set, numbered 1 through 4, and splendidly decorated in solid silver, was a 25th anniversary gift from the Royal Family at large.
