Modeled in Parian porcelain, evoking the look of Paros marble.A classical inspired portrait bust in Parian of Field Marshal Colin Campbell, 1st Baron Clyde, (1792–1863), British Army officer and a Commander-in-Chief of British forces in India during the Indian Mutiny of 1857. A hero and a favorite of Queen Victoria, he was raised to the peerage as Baron Clyde in 1858. This impressive bust dates from that year. No factory marks but not unusual.
