ϒA Victorian leather, brass-bound, and oak lined gun case, J. Purdey, circa 1865, for a single gun, with paper label to the interior of the lid for J. Purdey, 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET, Near Hanover Square, London, Gun Manufacturer, 9cm x 85cm x 25cm, containing two rosewood implements, together with a leather and brass-bound gun case, early 20th century, for two guns, containing various implements including a horn handled brush stamped W. Evans, PALL MALL, the exterior stamped C. J. OPPENHEIM and with later paper label to one side from William Evans, 9cm x 83cm x 32cm (2) The firm of James Purdey & Sons operated from their Oxford Street address from 1826 and moved to their current address in South Audley Street in 1882. In 2014 the company celebrated its bicentennial.
