Alan Emmett (1938-2008); two late 20th century carved and painted wood models of mallard duck, comprising: a mallard drake, waterline modelled and signed and dated ALAN EMMETT Oct 98, 28cm in length; and a larger model of the female, waterline modelled and signed and dated ALAN EMMETT Oct 1985, 35cm in length Provenance: From the Estate of the late Alan Emmett, wood carver and a founder member of the British Decoy & Wildfowl Carvers Association (BDWCA). On his death the Association dedicated a memorial trophy in his name - the Alan Emmett Memorial Trophy, which is awarded each year by the BDWCA for the best newcomer. Mr Emmett was trained by the late Bob Ridges a much celebrated master of the art of decoy carving.
