A Chinese porcelain dish with a wide flat bottom and steeply curved sides which form a shallow bowl. The central medallion shows and iron-red dragon clutching a flaming pearl within a ring of sea-green waves. Two more dragons circle the walls of the bowl amidst multi-colored clouds, in pursuit of flaming pearls. The outer wall has a decorative band just below the rim, with 3 stylized bats painted in red beneath. red characters mark the underside. D. 7 3/4in. (19.5cm) Condition: in good condition a 0.4cm kiln crack can be seen to the rim (flaw of manufacturing)
