A pair of marble discs, near mirror images of each other, decorated with agate and jade in the image of a bird flying above stones & flowering plants. The rectangular bases taper in, similar to a pyramid then lifts straight above a hollowed out space to a flat platform surrounded by a carved jade colored railing. An hourglass shaped wall of ruyi scrollwork carving raises up to support the crescent moon shape where a decorative disc can rest inside a groove. H: 10" (25.4cm) W: 9 1/2" (24.1cm) two discs Condition: in overall good condition ,except for a flower and a leaf is missing from one disc, the beak of the bird from the other. Evidence of repairs to cracks can be seen in the stand of foaming glue is seen between this area and the platform as well as between the platform & the railing.
